What's new

We add sports, formats and fixes regularly. Here is what changed, newest first. Something missing for your sport? Tell us.

20 October 2026 – Pickleball, and big moments on the scoreboard

  • Longer rules guides for rugby, darts, snooker, pool, touch rugby, korfball, ringball and jukskei: the calls that cause the most arguments, restarts, extra time, equipment and more.
  • The jukskei scorer now follows the official rule that pegs by both teams in a round cancel out one for one (you can switch this off for casual games), and the team that scored only pegs pitches first in the next round.
  • A pickleball scorer for doubles and singles: traditional side-out scoring with the "0-0-2" start and three-number call, or rally scoring to 15 or 21 (with an optional freeze). It shows the call, who serves and from which court, where everyone stands, timeouts and the change of ends.
  • The live scoreboard and stream overlays now flash the big moments: a try or a goal, cards in their colour, a 180 or game shot in darts, centuries in snooker, breaks of serve in tennis and padel, home runs in softball, sevens, fives and wickets in indoor cricket, and the winner at the end.

19 October 2026 – Archery and a new double-elimination format

  • An archery scorer: score sheets for up to four archers on a target (WA 720, indoor 18 m, field and 3D) with 10 and X counts, and head-to-head recurve set-system, compound, team and field matches with shoot-offs.
  • A new tournament format, double elimination to the semi-finals: the last two of the winners bracket meet the last two of the losers bracket in grand semi-finals (avoiding rematches where possible), then a final and a third-place match.

18 October 2026 – Badminton, series rankings page and imports

  • A badminton scorer for singles and doubles: rally scoring to 21, or the 15-point games that become the official system in January 2027. It shows who serves, from which court, and, in doubles, who stands where after every rally, plus intervals and change of ends.
  • A public Series page in the menu, where anyone can find and follow the rankings that series managers choose to show.
  • Tournaments now have a date, shown in the list of your tournaments and on the public pages, and a series uses it as the date played.
  • Results from PLAY Table Tennis (Challengers) can be imported into the tournament manager, with every match, the final places and each player's ID.

17 October 2026 – Live score overlays for OBS

Every scoring app now has a Stream to OBS button. It gives you an address to add to OBS Studio, Streamlabs or vMix as a browser source, and the live score appears on your stream as a score bug, a lower third or a big scoreboard. How to set it up.

17 October 2026 – Deeper rules guides and articles for organisers

The netball, squash, table tennis, padel, tennis and hockey guides now include a worked scoring example, the calls and rules that cause the most arguments, timing rules, a scorer's checklist and a glossary. Later the same day we did the same for rugby, touch rugby, korfball, ringball, lawn bowls, pool, snooker, darts, jukskei, volleyball, softball and indoor cricket, so every sport now has a full guide. The ringball scorer also gained yellow and red cards, with a 5-minute timer for a red card.

New articles for organisers: how to run a round robin, knockout seeding and byes, groups and knockouts, double elimination, and running a club series with ranking points.

14 October 2026 – Series rankings

Link tournaments into a series – a club season, a grand prix circuit or a weekly social – and players are ranked automatically by how they finish. Each tournament has a rating (the points for the winner), every place below earns 10% less by default, and shared places split their points. A series can count every result or only each player's best few, over a set season or a rolling period such as the last six months. Players are matched by a player ID, so the same person is never ranked twice, and anyone can tap a player to see all their results.

13 October 2026 – Courts, combined views and knockout changes

  • Courts and order of play: tell the tournament manager how many courts, tables or fields you have, put matches on them, and move matches up or down. Players see what is on each court now and next.
  • Several tournaments on one screen: running a senior and a junior event side by side? The public page can show both, with matches finished in the last minute marked and the next few coming up.
  • Change knockout matchups in any round, and see the bracket redraw without crossed lines.
  • Run again: start next week's tournament with the same settings and players in one step.
  • Plate competitions and play-offs for every place in World Cup-style events.

11 October 2026 – Tournament manager and softball

  • The free tournament manager: leagues (round robin), World Cup-style groups and knockouts, single knockout, double elimination and progressive knockout where every place is played off. Check players in as they arrive, seed them by ranking points, and give referees a match code so the score from the scoring app goes straight into the draw.
  • A softball scorer for South African school and club softball: innings, outs, runs per inning and a simple diamond.

8 October 2026 – Indoor cricket

The indoor cricket scorer handles the South African format: pairs batting for set overs, minus five for a dismissal, skins per partnership, player stats and a man-of-the-match calculation.

7 October 2026 – New site and 13 more sports

We rebuilt the site and added scorers for netball, padel, lawn bowls, tennis, squash, pool, jukskei, hockey, rugby, touch rugby, korfball, snooker and darts, next to the original table tennis and volleyball apps. Every app now saves finished matches in My results, can show a full-screen spectator scoreboard, and has a plain-language rules guide.
